The Zhongnan University of Economics and Law - Beijing Jiaotong University Bilateral Forum on Finance (Winter 2025) Successfully Concluded
On January 3, 2025, the "Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (ZUEL) - Beijing Jiaotong University (BJTU) Bilateral Forum on Finance (Winter 2025)" was successfully held in Room 401, South Wenquan Building, Nanhu Campus of ZUEL. The forum was jointly hosted by the School of Finance at ZUEL and the School of Economics and Management at BJTU, with the support of the Innovation Base for Digital Technology and Modern Finance. Attendees included Professor Yu Minggui, Dean of the School of Finance at ZUEL and Co-Director of the Innovation Base; Professor Lü Yongbin, Vice Dean of the School of Finance at ZUEL and Co-Deputy Director of the Innovation Base; Professor Shi Jin, Overseas Chief Expert of the Innovation Base; Associate Professor Lu Chao, Director of the Department of Finance at BJTU’s School of Economics and Management; Professor Chen Wei and Associate Professor Lili Dai from the University of New South Wales Business School, among others.
Professor Yu Minggui, on behalf of ZUEL’s School of Finance, extended a warm welcome to the delegation from BJTU’s School of Economics and Management and expressed sincere gratitude to the guests for their long-standing support and concern for the school. He noted that BJTU has achieved remarkable progress in the development of its finance discipline in recent years, which is worthy of learning and reference. Professor Yu also introduced the development history, achievements, and distinctive features of talent cultivation in ZUEL’s finance discipline, wishing the event a complete success.
Associate Professor Lu Chao, Director of the Department of Finance at BJTU’s School of Economics and Management, expressed his appreciation for the invitation and organization by ZUEL’s School of Finance. He provided a brief overview of the finance discipline at BJTU and emphasized the importance of maintaining the tradition of academic exchange and collaboration between the two institutions. He expressed hope that the bilateral forum would establish a long-term mechanism to continuously enhance disciplinary exchanges between the two universities.
During the paper presentation and bilateral exchange session, young faculty members Li Ao and Zhong Saimo from ZUEL, Associate Professor Lu Chao and Associate Professor Jin Fujing from BJTU, as well as Professor Chen Wei and Associate Professor Lili Dai from the University of New South Wales, presented their research papers. These papers covered new advancements in various fields, including corporate finance, financial markets, capital markets, and environmental finance, sparking active discussions and in-depth exchanges among participants.
Both sides expressed their commitment to building on the foundation of this bilateral forum to chart a long-term collaborative blueprint. They plan to organize regular academic exchanges, explore cutting-edge areas in finance, break down institutional barriers, and foster diverse intellectual exchanges, thereby continuously empowering the flourishing development of financial academic research at both institutions.
