Good News丨 Our Graduate Student Wins Silver Award at the Hubei Provincial Final of the 2nd National College Student Career Planning Competition

On March 9, the Hubei Provincial Final of the 2nd National College Student Career Planning Competition, hosted by the Hubei Provincial Department of Education and organized by Hubei University, concluded successfully. Li Nanxin, a 2023 master's student in Financial Engineering from our school, won the Silver Award in the Employment Track of the Higher Education Group. Additionally, our university was honored with the "Outstanding Organization Award" for this competition.

Themed "Building Dreams in Youth, Aiming for the Future; Planning for Careers, Guiding the Way Forward," the competition attracted participants from 132 universities across the province since its launch in October 2024. The School of Finance attached great importance to the event, actively responding to the university’s Career Guidance Service Center’s initiatives. Extensive promotion and mobilization efforts were made across the school, leading to the organization of internal selection contests for both undergraduate and graduate students, which yielded positive results. Graduate students Li Nanxin and Zhu Yina advanced to the university-level final and the preliminary round of the Hubei Provincial Competition. Ultimately, Li Nanxin, after multiple rounds of selection, became the sole representative of our university to enter the provincial final.

During the preparation period, Li Nanxin received comprehensive guidance and support from the university’s Career Guidance Service Center and faculty members. Her PowerPoint presentation and speech content were meticulously refined, and she participated in simulated exercises and professional knowledge sessions led by experts and outstanding alumni. These efforts further improved her career planning approach and enhanced her overall capabilities.

In the fiercely contested final, Li Nanxin stood out with her project titled "Intelligent Protection of Returns, Steady Start to the Future." Targeting a career as a fixed-income analyst, she conducted an in-depth analysis of current industry demands, systematically planned her career development path, and shared her journey of striving toward her professional goals. By aligning her personal career aspirations with the needs of national development, she ultimately secured the Silver Award in the Employment Track of the Higher Education Group.

Looking ahead, the School of Finance will further deepen its efforts in career education, integrating career planning and employment guidance into the entire process of graduate students’ ideological and political education and talent development. The school will continue to guide students in establishing a correct outlook on employment, enhancing their career planning awareness and employability, and fully promoting high-quality and sufficient employment for graduates.
