The Second Sun Yat-sen University-Zhongnan University of Economics and Law Bilateral Finance Forum Successfully Held​

Exploring Cutting-edge Theories and Promoting Scientific Innovation Together​

Following the successful inaugural forum held in Wuhan in January 2024, the Second Sun Yat-sen University-Zhongnan University of Economics and Law Bilateral Finance Forum was successfully convened on April 26, 2025, at Lingnan Hall, Lingnan College, Sun Yat-sen University. Co-hosted by Lingnan College of Sun Yat-sen University and the School of Finance of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, the forum centered on the theme of Financial Innovation and Sustainable Development. It brought together scholars, young faculty members, and doctoral students from both institutions to foster academic exchange and collaboration through research presentations and discussions, thereby advancing innovation in the field of finance.


I. Opening Ceremony: Embarking on a New Chapter of Academic Collaboration

The opening ceremony was chaired by Professor Luo Danglun, Director of the Corporate Finance Teaching and Research Office at Lingnan College, Sun Yat-sen University. Professors Luo Danglun and Yu Minggui, Dean of the School of Finance at Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, delivered opening remarks.

Professor Luo Danglun extended a warm welcome to the delegation from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law and all participants. He emphasized that bilateral collaboration serves as a vital pathway to breaking down academic barriers, reviewed the longstanding partnership between the two universities, and proposed the establishment of a regular exchange mechanism to deepen cooperation.

Professor Yu Minggui expressed his honor in being invited to the beautiful Kanglin Campus of Sun Yat-sen University and extended sincere gratitude to the organizers for their meticulous preparations. He reflected on the achievements of the first forum and advocated for continued strategic collaboration to jointly build a high-level academic platform for research in finance and sustainable development.

Ⅱ. Academic Presentations: In-Depth Exchange of Cutting-Edge Research​

The paper presentation sessions, moderated by Associate Professor Xu Yonghao from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law and Associate Professor Deng Jiapin from Sun Yat-sen University, showcased eight high-quality academic papers. Discussions revolved around frontier issues in financial markets and the deepening of ESG research, with scholars engaging in lively debates on model construction, data selection, and policy implications.

          

         

         

          

          

          


ⅡI. Closing Remarks: Strengthening Collaboration for the Future​

At the closing ceremony, Professor Luo Danglun concluded by stating, “From its inaugural session to this second edition, we have witnessed the growth of this academic platform. ”Moving forward, we will continue to promote cross-regional dialogue and exploration in finance and sustainable development.
