University Holds Mobilization and Deployment Meeting for On-Site Review of Re-Certification of Higher Education Quality Accreditation for International Students
On the afternoon of April 16, the mobilization and deployment meeting for the on-site review of the re-certification of higher education quality accreditation for international students was held in Room 709 of Wenhuan Building. Liu Renshan, Member of the University Party Committee Standing Committee and Vice President, attended the meeting. More than 40 participants were present, including heads of 22 relevant functional departments, 15 academic units, and staff from the College of International Education. The meeting was chaired by Zheng Ying, Dean of the College of International Education.
At the meeting, Vice President Liu Renshan delivered a mobilization speech. Liu first fully affirmed the importance of the re-certification work and the necessity of this meeting, emphasizing that the re-certification is a crucial step in enhancing the quality and efficiency of the university’s talent cultivation and internationalization efforts, deepening educational openness, and serving the "Study in China" strategy. Drawing on past evaluation experiences, he put forward three key requirements for relevant units in preparing for the on-site review by the expert panel. First, elevate ideological awareness and strengthen cohesion for the review. Units must approach the review with a commitment to supporting the "Double First-Class" initiative and engaging in global governance, ensuring high-quality passage of the re-certification. Second, refine task implementation and adopt a coordinated approach. All units must strictly follow the working manual and evaluation indicators, ensuring meticulous compliance and timely progress. Third, tighten responsibility chains and highlight strengths in international student education. Relevant units must ensure clear deployment and implementation, assigning responsibilities to specific roles, while emphasizing the university’s distinctive features in areas such as integrated management of international students, cross-cultural practices, and interdisciplinary education.
Dean Zheng Ying provided an overview of the re-certification progress and the on-site review plan, while Vice Dean Wang Zhengjun introduced the experts’ itinerary and related work arrangements. During the meeting, functional departments and academic units engaged in in-depth discussions based on their assigned tasks.
The Higher Education Quality Accreditation for International Students is a nationwide evaluation conducted by the China Education Association for International Exchange under the authorization of the Ministry of Education. It serves as a vital measure to standardize and regulate international student education in universities. The university aims to pass the re-certification with high quality, further strengthening the "Study at ZUEL" brand and writing a new chapter in international education.
